The Foundation programme at 半岛体育 Park Hospital is overseen by the KSS Deanery (Kent, Surrey and Sussex).

Foundation teaching programme:

The foundation teaching programme offers weekly core teaching sessions for foundation trainees from September to May. These half-day sessions are held every Tuesday from 14:00 to 17:00 and cover a diverse range of topics, including career development and clinical case discussions.

Additionally, trainees will participate in a minimum of two half-day simulation sessions, facilitated by the medical education fellow. These sessions involve high-fidelity clinical scenarios, followed by a debrief to reflect on the experience.

All foundation trainees are required to maintain a Horus E-Portfolio, where they log the competencies they achieve in preparation for their annual review of competency progression (ARCP), which occurs each June. Both FY1s and FY2s have a checklist of tasks that must be completed to successfully pass their ARCP.

Each trainee is assigned an educational supervisor for the year. They must meet with their supervisor at the start and end of each rotation and record these meetings in their e-portfolio. Additionally, at the start of each rotation, trainees are assigned a clinical supervisor for the department they will work in. They should meet with their clinical supervisor at both the beginning and end of each rotation, also logging these meetings in their e-portfolio.
