If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, .
半岛体育 Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance listed below. This website was tested in March 2025.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Some PDF documents, such as meeting board papers, are not fully accessible to screen reader software (this relates to WCAG requirements 1.4.5, 2.4.4, 2.4.6 and 2.5.3 — see further detail below under 'PDFs and other documents').
- Embedded videos do not have captions or transcripts (WCAG requirement 1.2.1 — audio-only and video-only, pre-recorded).
PDFs and other documents
Documents such as our trust board papers (including papers published since September 2018) contain hundreds of pages including images, tables, and charts, making them difficult to make fully accessible or convert them to HTML web pages.
The WCAG requirements that these documents do not fully meet are:
- 1.4 Distinguishable
- 1.4.5 Images of text
- 2.4 Navigable
- 2.4.4 Link purpose (in context)
- 2.4.6 Headings and labels
- 2.5 Input modalities
- 2.5.3 Label in name
We are committed to working to make these documents, and other types of PDFs or Word documents published since September 2018 that are not currently accessible, compliant.
Patient information leaflets
Many of our patient information leaflets are on our website as PDFs. Most of these are meant for print and not suitable for web page format. Where these leaflets can be changed to web pages they have been, with many more to be converted in the coming months. Those that are not suitable for conversion will remain on this website as accessible PDFs.
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
However, if there is a specific document that you would like to request in HTML format we will do our best to oblige where possible and practicable — please get in touch:
email fhft.
phone 0300 614 5000
Most new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards, however, some documents will not be fully accessible.
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
The accessibility toolbar is located at the bottom of every page.
It's labelled ‘show accessibility tools’ and you can click on it to view our accessibility options. You can then click on ‘hide accessibility tools’ to hide them again.
The toolbar’s options include:
- text size
- contrast
