Professional background

Henry completed his basic surgical training and a PhD in London, then higher surgical training in the Wessex region.

He has an interest in all aspects of upper GI disease, including both benign conditions and cancer.  He also manages a range of general surgical conditions both in the elective and emergency settings.

Research interests

Henry has a research interest in TISCI (trauma induced secondary cardiac injury) and post-injury organ dysfunction.  In addition, he continues to participate in other aspects of trauma, upper GI and general surgery research.  

He has a passion for education, both in the clinical and university settings, as well as an interest in humanitarian surgery and healthcare.
