Professional background

Andrew was appointed in 2018 to develop reconstructive urology and support the general urology service. He was awarded the Keith Yeates gold medal for the outstanding performance in the FRCS (Urol) exam in 2015 and undertook a fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital gaining accreditation with the DaVinci Xi robot.

He is part of the core urology MDT and manages patients with prostate, bladder and testicular cancer. His wide-ranging general training means he is comfortable managing all aspects of male and female urological problems including urinary symptoms, stones, infections and scrotal/penile problems.

He has set-up a urethroplasty practice, introduced Optilume and manages patients requiring reconstruction of the urinary tract due to scarring or injury. He is an honorary consultant at St Richard's Hospital where he implants AUS/male slings to help men with incontinence after prostate treatment.

Andrew has published and presented widely including 鈥極ncall in urology鈥�, 4 textbook chapters and over 30 journal articles. He maintains a strong commitment to education and training and is the undergraduate lead for Southampton medical students during their surgery attachment.
