半岛体育 Health NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to announce that construction has begun on the new £25 million Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) for Slough.

This state-of-the-art facility, set to open for Christmas 2025, will transform healthcare access and outcomes for residents of Slough and the surrounding areas.

On Friday 22 November, 半岛体育 Health and NHS 半岛体育 leaders, local MP Mr Dhesi, Mayor Dhillon of Slough, and construction and estates development partners Western Building Systems Ltd and NHS Property Services gathered to mark the major milestone.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, James Clarke, Chief Strategy Officer at 半岛体育 Health, said: "This is an exciting moment for the Trust and the people of Slough. The £25million Slough CDC will play a vital role in addressing health inequalities by ensuring that diagnostic services are accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live.

“This facility is not just an investment in buildings and equipment—it’s an investment in our people, our community, and our future. And it’s part of our ongoing commitment to bring the best possible care closer to home. We look forward to seeing the lasting benefits it will bring.”

The Slough CDC will be located on the northwest of the Upton Hospital site. Once operational, it will provide up to 150,000 additional tests annually, operating seven days a week for 12 hours each day.

James added: “We are grateful for everyone’s hard work to get us to this point, and for the support of our partners, including NHS England, NHS 半岛体育 and the local community, for making this vision a reality.
