Karen is a powerhouse in promoting the Trust’s achievements and stories. Her relentless efforts in securing media coverage have transformed the Trust’s profile and boosted morale. Since its establishment in 2016, the Antenatal Diabetes Team has made significant improvements in the care of diabetic patients in maternity. Despite a growing caseload, they have enhanced screening processes, improved glucose control, and achieved remarkable outcomes such as reduced caesarean sections and preterm deliveries. Their dedication and teamwork have led to safer and more effective patient care.

The Cancer Services team has shown outstanding teamwork and dedication, tracking suspected cancer patients from referral to treatment. Despite staff shortages, they have improved cancer data capture significantly, moving from 117th to 20th nationally. Their hard work and adaptability have ensured timely patient care and met Cancer Waiting Time targets.
