Parking facilities for patients are available at the front of the hospital.

Parking facilities for patients and visitors are available in two car parks (A and B) at the front of the hospital, accessed via gate 2 on Wexham Street, and one car park (C) for maternity and day surgery patients accessed via gate 4 on Wexham Park Lane.

A 'pay on foot' system operates for parking so you'll need to remember to take your parking ticket with you and pay before returning to your vehicle.  

Pay machines are located:

  • Outside the main entrance
  • Outside and adjacent to the emergency department
  • Inside the maternity entrance

Payment can be made in cash or by card.
A fixed penalty notice may be issued to any vehicle, if security staff believe that it is causing an obstruction.

Any patients, including blue badge holders, who are entitled to free parking through low income or benefits are able to reclaim the cost of parking. 

Disabled parking

Blue badge holders are eligible to park in any dedicated disabled parking bays and all other nominated public parking. 

Parking bays for disabled patients and visitors are located closest to the hospital within the main car park.

Patients may be taken to and collected from the main entrance but please do not park cars in areas where there are double yellow lines or no parking signs. Road space must be kept clear for ambulances and other emergency traffic. 

Please note that we do all we can to provide enough spaces for visitors but they are available on a first come - first served basis, even if you purchase a weekly or monthly ticket.

Disabled people

A disabled person is a holder of a valid Blue Badge attending hospital as a patient or visitor. Disabled patients and visitors receive free parking for the duration of their attendance at, or visit to, the hospital. Disabled patients / visitors should report to Security before they leave, with their blue badge for ticket validation.

Frequent outpatient attenders

Parking will be provided free to all outpatients who attend hospital for an appointment at least three times within a month and for an overall period of at least three months. A 'month' is defined as a period of 30 days. 

Parents of sick children staying overnight

The parent of a child in hospital overnight is a parent or guardian of a child or young person, under 18 years of age, who is admitted as an inpatient in the hospital overnight.They receive free parking between the hours of 7.30pm and 8.00am while visiting the child. This would apply to a maximum of two vehicles.

Visitors with relatives who are gravely sick, or carers of such people 

Gravely sick is defined as 'having an illness with a high risk of dying, but dying is not guaranteed, as it would be with being terminally ill'. It is up to ward staff to interpret this in line with the patients' sickness and expectation of recovery. 

  • Relatives of patients in any of the above groups.
  • Carers of patients in any of the above groups.
  • Cancer patients with a confirmed cancer diagnosis and attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. 

Visitor with relatives who are terminally ill, under palliative care, or carers of such people

The definition of terminal illness is an illness or condition which cannot be cured and is likely to lead to the death of a patient. Palliative care is a patient requiring support at end of life.

  • Carers of patients in any of the above groups.
