2015 LEGISLATIVE & RPAC COMMITTEE

The Legislative Committee is a three-fold committee.

1.  Legislative:  The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to a) inform and educate members on political/legislative issues related to the real estate industry so they are equipped to make appropriate judgments (to political awareness, as well as) b) engage members to anticipate and analyze real estate market needs/issues and to share their data  with the appropriate local, state or national governmental agencies through analysis and suggested action on important legislation;

2.  Political Affairs:  The purpose of the Political Affairs Committee is to establish contacts with all local and State Representatives and Senators and National Representatives and Senators for our area, and to contact these legislators when issues arise in legislation that affects our industry;

3.  REALTORS® Political Action: The purpose of REALTORS® Political Action is to encourage contributions, which are investments from members to support State and National RPAC policies that directly affect realtor issues.

Our Legislative Committee has been instrumental in the creation of our legislative programs; these events are becoming the model for the development of legislative programs by other Boards.
